Sunday meeting at Wexford cancelled, Monday in doubt

Today's meeting at Wexford has been cancelled after the course was found to be unfit for racing following an inspection.

A further inspection will take place tomorrow morning ahead of Monday's card.

Paul Moloney, IHRB clerk of the course at Wexford, said: "We've had 35mm of rain overnight here at Wexford and unfortunately the track is not fit for racing at present.

"Some parts of the track are just holding a little too much water following that volume of rain in a relatively short space of time from yesterday evening.

"The forecast for today does appear to be more favourable with just a passing shower and the lads on track will do everything they can to try and make sure we are racing tomorrow.

"We will inspect again tomorrow morning at 7.30am to determine if we can race on Monday."

The Curragh is currently unfit for racing ahead of the fixture scheduled to take place on Tuesday.

The current weather forecast is unsettled with the possibility of some passing showers turning heavy at times.

There will be a further update on the fixture at 3pm on Monday.
