Su Oh heads Aussie challenge in Singapore

Su Oh is the leading Australian after Patty Tavatanakit shot a five-under-par 67 to take a one-stroke lead after the first round of the LPGA's HSBC Women's World Championship in Singapore.

Nine of the top 10-ranked players in women's golf are in the field at the event but it was world No.13 who set the early pace on Thursday.

Danielle Kang made bogey on the last hole to fall into a tie for second one shot back at four under with Inbee Park and A Lim Kim.

Oh carded a three-under 69 to be among 14 players sharing fifth including world No.1 Jin Young Ko and New Zealand's Lydia Ko.

Minjee Lee faltered down the stretch to slip to one under, with fellow Australian Hannah Green opened with a two-over 74 as she chases a third win from as many tournaments.

Jin Young Ko was playing her first tournament in three months but said she thought the break wasn't quite long enough.

"It was pretty short to me," Ko said. "And I'm back to Korea, and I spent time with my family and friends and my dog as well.

"And I watch Netflix in my bed with potato chips."
