Stuart Baxter's son next to leave Kaizer Chiefs - report

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly set to part ways with goalkeeping coach Lee Baxter.

Baxter, who is the son of former Chiefs head coach Stuart Baxter, will see his contract with the club expire at the end of June, according to KickOff.

Baxter stepped into the role vacated by Brazilian Alex Revoredo in February 2018 on a two-year deal.

In 2020, his deal was renewed and extended by a further two years, which coincided with his father's return as head coach of Amakhosi in June 2021.

Chiefs ended Stuart Baxter's second spell as head coach on Thursday.

The 45-year-old Lee Baxter was born in Sweden and previously worked as a goalkeeper coach at AIK Solna, Genclerbirligi in Turkey, SuperSport United, and AGF Aarhus in Denmark.

Amakhosi have already stocked up on a replacement as former goalkeeper Aubrey Tlali Mathibe is back at the club.

Mathibe rejoins Chiefs in his new capacity as goalkeeper coach and will work with both the reserve and the senior team.
