Storm Franklin flooding deluges village as road closed and major housing site left underwater

Heavy downpours have left a trail of carnage on a Trafford village's roads while the site of a major housing development has been submerged.

Land off Flixton Road, which is earmarked for a huge development as part of Trafford Council's housing plans, can also be seen under water.

A Stagecoach Greater Manchester spokesperson wrote on Twitter: "Due to Flixton Road being flooded, we are terminating our 255 services at Irlam Road/Flixton Road junction until further notice.
