'Stop me if you need to move' Sky News reporter warned as 'missiles' lobbed in live report

A Sky News journalist was cautioned during a broadcast from a Plymouth riot with the words: "Stop me if you need to leave" as various objects were hurled towards law enforcement officers.

Clashes erupted in Plymouth city centre involving far-right groups and the police, while anti-racism demonstrators were present too. News anchor Gillian Joseph relayed updates from the studio, leaving field reporter Dan Whitehead to capture the unfolding events live on location.

As the disturbance escalated with bricks and stones flown past a barrier at the police, Joseph interjected with concern: "Dan, we'll stay with you as long as you're confident that you're safe, so please stop me if you need to move, if you need to leave at any point."

Whitehead assured her, noting: "Thanks Gillian, we're okay, we're carrying on."

To which Joseph remarked, visibly anxious: "Another missile we just saw there land. Do we know what the tactics are now of the police, apart from containing? What's the game plan?", reports the Mirror.

Providing more insight, Whitehead reported: "That barrier is doing a lot of the work here for them. You've got those riot officers in place, but arguably it's the barrier that's doing a lot of the work."

Throughout the tense report, he could be seen geared up in a heavy-duty helmet and protective eyewear, firmly gripping a microphone as he kept a brisk pace away from the chaotic turmoil.

Dan remarked: "We'll just move back a little bit more as those missiles continue to be thrown. Most of them are bottles of drink and so forth, but we have seen bricks. When the protests moved up the road, around 500 metres or so further up, we saw lots of stones being thrown. We saw three police officers injured. They had to be taken
