Stockport County fixtures in full for 2022/23 League Two season

Stockport County and their manager Dave Challinor have today learned their fixture list ahead of their return to the Football League for the first time since their relegation in 2011.

The club were promoted from the National League last season by winning the division and today their promotion will feel more real for fans as they can begin to plan their trips throughout the 2022/23 season. The club start with a home fixture against Barrow, a club who were a familiar opponent in non-league, but there is still sure to be a large crowd at Edgeley Park to celebrate the return of league football.

When County were last in the top four leagues of English football, Salford City were operating in the Northern Premier League and Hatters fans will have had to watch as their local rivals climbed the non-league ladder to reach League Two in 2019. Now they can finally play on the same level once more and will wait until October 22 for an away trip to the Peninsula Stadium with the visit to Edgeley Park comes on April 1.

Another key date to look out for is traditionally Boxing Day, and the festive fixture has been kind with the visit of Cheshire club Crewe Alexandra to Edgeley Park. Meanwhile, the two fixtures against Rochdale which will be keenly anticipated are December 10 (a) and April 22 (h).

The final day of the season sees Hartlepool United travel to Stockport on May 6 for what could turn out to be a crucial fixture in the 46 game season.
