Steven Gerrard: When Liverpool legend and Robbie Keane played match vs 30 kids

Steven Gerrard’s time in Major League Soccer was brief.

Gerrard put an end to his Liverpool career in 2015 and subsequently signed for LA Galaxy.

He joined his former Liverpool teammate and good friend, Robbie Keane, at the club.

They were teammates for two years until they both decided to hang up their boots in 2016.

During their time as teammates, Gerrard and Keane took part in one of the most bizarre challenges ever.

The duo faced off in a game of football against 30 kids. That’s right. As part of LA Galaxy’s ‘Ridiculous Soccer Challenge’, they were asked to test their skills against a team of 30 eight-year-old schoolchildren.

It was pure chaos and you can view how they fared below…

It was Gerrard and Keane that opened the scoring. Keane spotted his teammate’s run and played a cross-field ball.

The goalkeeper should have cleared but he fluffed his lines, leaving Gerrard the easy task of converting into an empty net.

The Liverpool legend was delighted with his goal and put his shirt over his face in celebration.

The youngsters battled back and restored parity, only for Keane to notch his first of the game to make it 2-1 to the LA Galaxy pair.

It was 2-2 shortly after when a youngster produced a fantastic turn and finish, but it was Keane who would win it for his side late on.

The Irishman showed no mercy as he waltzed past a defender’s challenge, sat down the goalkeeper and then converted into an empty net.

It was close, but the former LA Galaxy pair kept their reputation in tact and just about emerged victorious.
