Steven Gerrard should avoid signing Moise Kean

Despite having Ollie Watkins, Danny Ings, Cameron Archer and Keinan Davis in attack, Steven Gerrard wants to bring another striker to Aston Villa this summer.

Calciomercato say the Midlands outfit are trying to sign Moise Kean from Everton ahead of next season, but it’s hard to see them making a move given he’s flopped at two of his last three clubs.

The 22-year-old popped up on the radar of clubs after scoring six goals in 13 Serie A games (2018/19) as a teenager for Juventus, but things fell apart after coming to England.

Kean joined Everton on a five-year deal in 2019 and went on to make 39 appearances, scoring four goals with two assists. After his failed stint in England, he was loaned out to Paris Saint-German and restored his reputation with 17 goals in 41 games (2020/21), but his loan return to Juve didn’t go to plan.

The Italian international scored five goals in 32 Serie A games this season and doesn’t appear to have a future in Turin, but Villa would do well to stay away. Kean flopped in England and has flopped back in Italy, so there are better ways to spend the transfer kitty.

In other news, what’s the latest on Keinan Davis’ future?
