Steven Gerrard's fiery exchange with reporter on Jon Moss after Aston Villa defeat to Liverpool
Steven Gerrard hopes the performance of referee Jonathan Moss "is looked at" after a series of controversial decisions throughout Aston Villa's defeat against Liverpool. Moss, who's retiring at the end of the season, was booed off at half-time and again at full-time by the Villa Park crowd with his display suspect to say the least.
Here's an extract from Gerrard's post-match press conference where he was asked about 51-year-old Moss's performance as the man in the middle.
No comment, I just hope that it's looked at. That's all I'll say. I just hope it's looked at. I hope, I hope it's looked at.
No. No.
Well you've just asked me a question so you obviously think it, don't you?
Well I've answered your question. I just hope Jon's performance is looked at.
Listen, I don't want to get into trouble. I don't want to be sour. We've lost the game. Liverpool have scored two goals against us and we need to look at that. I don't want to cover over any cracks but, you asked me a question, and I said I hope the referee's performance is looked at.
