Stephanie Meadow in flying form at Americas Open

Stephanie Meadow is tied-3rd after a fine opening 68 at the Americas Open at Liberty National.

The Antrim woman carded six birdies and two bogeys over the course of Thursday's round, leaving her three strokes adrift of the pace set by America's Lauren Hartlage who carded a blemish free 65.

Starting her round later, Leona Maguire carded a one-under par 71, with 15 pars, two birdies and a single bogey to lie tied-26th.

At the summit of the leaderboard, Hartlage is two clear of India's Aditi Ashok.

World No. 3 Lydia Ko is one shot behind Meadow in tied-5th on three-under par.
