Stanley Cup playoff odds: Avs, Canes still Cup faves as Flyers surge to 3-0 lead - ESPN

If there's been one surprise in the Stanley Cup Playoffs thus far, as the Philadelphia Flyers have pushed the Pittsburgh Penguins to the brink; the Flyers were +135 to win the series before it began and are -2000 as it heads to Game 4. Philadelphia has shortened from 70-1 to 35-1 to win the Cup, while Pittsburgh has lengthened significantly from 25-1 to 190-1 since the postseason began. The Pens are BetMGM's largest remaining liability and DraftKings called the Flyers «a staple of the future book.»

At the top of the odds board, the Colorado Avalanche (+245) and Carolina Hurricanes (+330) continue to look like the biggest Cup contenders, extending their odds leads after taking 2-0 series leads. The Tampa Bay Lightning salvaged their odds by evening their series with the Montreal Canadiens (35-1), but they still lengthened from +500 to +650. The Vegas Golden Knights actually shortened slightly from 10-1 to +950 despite dropping Game 2 of their series to the Utah Mammoth, who improved from 35-1 to 30-1.

Bettors and bookmakers alike will be keeping their eyes on the Buffalo Sabres, who ultimately maintained their 14-1 Stanley Cup odds despite splitting games in Buffalo with the Boston Bruins, who shortened to 50-1 from 55-1. The Sabres attracted public futures action throughout the regular season after consistently exceeding expectations and making the postseason for the first time in 14 years.
