Stagecoach Manchester changes bus timetable for day of The Queen's funeral

One of Greater Manchester's biggest bus companies have announced they will be running a Sunday service on the day of The Queen's funeral.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral is taking place at Westminster Abbey on Monday, which has been declared a bank holiday.

Schools and a number of businesses and services will be closed as a result.

Stagecoach Manchester, which runs a large number of bus services across Greater Manchester's ten boroughs, has been running services according to its timetable during the period of national mourning following the late monarch's death last Thursday.

However they say on the day of her funeral, they will be running a Sunday service. Passengers have been advised to check journey times for their specific service before travelling. Sunday timetables can be downloaded online here.

Transport for Greater (TfGM) say all other bus operators and Metrolink will also be operating to Sunday timetables. Trams will run from 7am until midnight with a 12-minute frequency across all lines.

Metrolink services will pause at 11:50am, when a two minute's silence is to be held across the country in memory of The Queen, and will resume following its completion.

Passengers on board will be notified when the silence begins. The silence will also be observed at railway stations and at transport interchanges.

Train services are running to standard weekly timetable.
