Stacey Dooley says 'I'm not ok' as she defends herself from mum-shamers while watching Strictly with Kevin Clifton ahead of 'return'

Stacey Dooley was overcome with emotion as she tuned in to watch Strictly Come Dancing with her baby daughter. But she soon found herself speaking out in her own defence before she found herself at the mercy of mum-shamers.

The documentary maker, who won the BBC One dance contest in 2018 with now-partner Kevin Clifton, took to social media to share how she was finally able to watch the hit show live with Kevin and their baby girl, Minnie, who was born back in January.

She shared a video on Saturday night (October 7) of the nine-month-old sat on the carpet as she looked up at the TV "watching her Daddy's show" as the annual Movie Week extravaganza took over the ballroom and opened with the Strictly cast celebrating 100 years of Disney.

The show's group of professional dancers opened the show with a special Disney medley featuring songs from across the entertainment firm's biggest films which included songs from Pocahontas, Frozen and red-haired Dianne Buswell leading the dance to The Little Mermaid.

Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman than began the third week of the competition by being escorted into the ballroom by Mickey and Minnie Mouse while fellow iconic and much-loved characters Pluto, Goofy, Donald and Daisy Duck also walked out with the judges.

Sharing the clip of Minnie watching her mousey namesake Minnie and Mickey on screen, Stacey penned: "NO IM NOT OKAY. First time I’ve been home for Strictly and legit Minnie loves it."
