St Kilda opt against offering new contract to Darragh Joyce
AFL club St Kilda have opted against offering Kilkenny's Darragh Joyce a new contract – but a number of other clubs are monitoring his situation.
The former Kilkenny All-Ireland winning minor captain [2014] is the first list change for St Kilda following the end to their season, ending his seven-year association with the Melbourne club.
Joyce originally joined in 2016 as a Category B rookie and made his AFL debut two years later against Melbourne, but he would only make another 12 appearances whilst regularly featuring at VFL level.
AFL.com.au has reported that a number of other clubs are interested in the now de-listed player.
"Darragh’s journey to the AFL was far from traditional, but he embraced every challenge as an opportunity to grow and learn," Head of List Management James Gallagher said.
"Since walking in the doors of the club, he’s been a popular member of our playing group and has always been happy to play his role for the team.
"While he won’t be continuing at the Saints, we wish Darragh all the best for whatever comes next, both on and off the field."
