Southampton: Interest in £40.5m duo a 'real sign of promise'

Southampton being linked with Tete and Boubacar Kamara indicates that the club are moving in the right direction, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

With the Saints almost guaranteed their place in the Premier League for next season, they can start planning ahead to try to strengthen their squad this summer.

Tete has been linked with a number of Premier League teams recently, including Southampton, Everton and West Ham, while European clubs such as AC Milan and Ajax have also been monitoring the Shakhtar Donetsk winger.

The competition to land Kamara is also fierce. The 22-year-old is out of contract at Marseille in June, and is being tracked by Manchester United and Tottenham, plus Southampton.

Reigning Spanish champions Atletico Madrid have emerged as the favourites to sign him, though.
