Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl sends warning to Ralf Rangnick ahead of Manchester United clash

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has warned Manchester United and interim boss Ralf Rangnick not to underestimate his side when they visit Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime.

The Saints, who were famously beaten 9-0 on their last visit to Old Trafford, will arrive in Manchester brimming with confidence following their impressive come-from-behind 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening.

Victory over Spurs, which was secured thanks to a late goal from Che Adams, extended the Saints' unbeaten run in all competitions to three matches, meaning they will fancy their chances of taking something from a United side that has stumbled in their last two outings.

United, of course, head into the contest as favourites to collect all three points, despite recent lapses against both Middlesbrough and Burnley.

Nevertheless, Saints chief Hasenhuttl, who worked alongside Rangnick at RB Leipzig, has warned his former colleague not to miscalculate his side.

"For us, it is tough to go there and win," Hasenhuttl admitted, as quoted by Hampshire Live. "Don't underestimate us, but they are still the favourite in this game. We need a very good [performance].

"Their targets are high and expectations also, so far the results have been good in some moments, not perfect in others, but they are in touch with the Champions League spots and this is what this team should normally get with the quality they have got.

"We just played against Man City and Tottenham, and I am sure we will need a similarly good performance against them."
