South American duo help CT City to smash-and-grab win over Pirates
Orlando Pirates winless league run stretched to three games as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Cape Town City at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday evening leaving them 18 points behind runaway leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Buccaneers started the better of the sides as Pirates winger Monnapule Saleng produced a stunning save from Cape Town City goalkeeper Darren Keet as early as the first minute.
The hosts struggled to get a hold of the ball as The Sea Robbers were dominating the state of play and their efforts were rewarded as Deon Hotto produced a stunning strike to give Pirates the lead in the 21st minute.

Miguel Timm found Hotto at the edge of the penalty area and he done the rest as his powerful strike beat the helpless Keet.
After the first goal Pirates looked hungry to add a second and had another chance as Hotto, who appeared to be the most dangerous player on the pitch in the opening 30 minutes, flicked the ball to Saleng who drove at the Citizens backline with his pace and power. However, he could not find a way through and the ball found its way to Innocent Maela who got a shot away but he could not beat Keet.
After a dominant opening half hour display from the away side, Cape Town City stayed in the game and against the run of play, they found the back of the net.
A dangerous cross from Lyle Lakay found new signing, Colombian Juan Zapata, who produced a powerful header past Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chainee. Zapata's goal was the Colombian's first for his new club in only his second appearance.
The second half was similar to the first half as Pirates dominated in search of a second goal.
