Rohit Sharma's Career "Coming To An End"? 'Sad State Of India Captain' Bombshell Dropped As Terrible Run Continues

Rohit Sharma is going through a tought time in cricket. While his captaincy during India's ongoing Test series against Australia has been receiving criticism, his batting has not been good either. He missed the first Test due to personal reasons and joined the team from the second game. Rohit scored 3 and 6 in Adelaide before disappointing with another low score, 10, in the next game in Brisbane. Come Melbourne and Rohit's poor form continued here as well. He was dismissed for 3 runs off 5 balls. What looked poorer was the manner in which he got out. It was a harmless short of length ball outside off stump from Pat Cummins, and Rohit, in an attempt to pull it, got a top edge only to give an easy catch to Scott Boland close to the mid-on region.

"Virat Kohli Sent Him Back...": Steve Smith Provides New Insight Into Yashasvi Jaiswal Run-Out

Australia's Steve Smith credited a last-session breakthrough, including the dramatic run-out of Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal at the end of the second day's play as the turning point in the Boxing Day Test that could decide the outcome of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. Smith highlighted the mix-up between Jaiswal and Virat Kohli as a "huge play" that shifted momentum decisively in Australia's favour. “It looks like Jaiswal called ‘yes' and ran and Virat sent him back. It is as simple as that,” Smith said after the second day's play.

Test Records For Zimbabwe And Sean Williams As Afghanistan Toil

Zimbabwe and their veteran batter Sean Williams created Test records on Friday against Afghanistan, who trailed by 491 runs after the second day of the first Test in Bulawayo. Resuming on 363 for four, the home side were all out for 586 at Queens Sports Club in the southern city. Afghanistan were 95 for two off 30 overs in reply when bad light stopped play. The Zimbabwe first innings total was their highest in a Test, bettering 563 for nine against the West Indies in Harare 23 years ago. It was the sixth Zimbabwe innings to exceed 500 runs. Having made 145 runs on the first day, Williams added nine more before being caught by Rahmat Shah close to the boundary line off a Naveed Zadran bouncer.  His 154 overtook a previous best of 151 not out, also against Afghanistan, in Abu Dhabi three years ago. Williams, batting at No. 4, struck three sixes and 10 fours off 174 balls in a 266-minute stand in the city where he was born. It was his fourth century in six Tests.

Watch: Sam Konstas' Old Video Of Picking Virat Kohli Over Steve Smith Goes Viral

Australia's teenager Sam Konstas impressed one and all with his batting approach in his maiden international innings. Opening the batting for Australia against India in the fourth Test, the right-handed batter smashed a 60 runs at a strike rate of 92.31. However, this was not the sole reason that the Australia star hogged a lot of limelight. Another big reason that put Konstas' name in focus was his altercation with India's Virat Kohli. In 10th over of the Australian innings, while crossing over, Kohli and Konstas bumped shoulders and quickly turned around to glance at each other, engaging in a heated exchange of words.

"We Played Like Gentlemen...": 1983 World Cup-Winning Star On Virat Kohli-Sam Konstas Row

There has been a lot of debate regarding the altercation between Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas that took place on Day 1 of the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The 1983 World Cup-winning wicket-keeper Syed Kirmani has given his take on the latest controversy, claiming the current crop of cricketers have a ‘cannot-take-it-lying-down' attitude. The altercation occurred during a gripping session of play when Konstas was in the midst of an impressive innings and Kohli bumped into the 19-year-old in between overs. “We played like gentlemen. Having said that, it's not that our cricketers are not playing like gentlemen. It is a matter of retaliation. Now, the attitude, and the application is changed. Now, we cannot take it lying down. We have to retaliate,” Kirmani told IANS.
