Trouble Hits PSL 2025 Before Opener As Team Hotel In Islamabad Catches Fire

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 is all set to begin on Friday but the teams were left concerned after a fire broke out on the sixth floor of the Serena Hotel in Islamabad, where the players were staying. The district administration confirmed that the fire originated on the top floor and the fire department quickly took care of the situation. None of the guests and staff, which included PSL cricketers and officials, were injured because of the fire and they were evacuated properly. “None of the players or franchises faced any difficulties. CSK Achieve Historic Low After Disastrous Batting Performance Against KKR

A completely disoriented Chennai Super Kings could manage only a paltry 103 for nine, their lowest total at the home ground Chepauk, as Kolkata Knight Riders dished out a clinical bowling show in their IPL match on Friday. It was CSK's third lowest total in the IPL and the lowest by any team in this edition so far. Veteran spinner Sunil Narine (3/13) grabbed three wickets, while Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy got two each after CSK were invited to bat. Nothing went right for CSK in their home ground as they could hit just nine boundaries (4 or 6) in the entire innings. Shivam Dube top-scored with an unbeaten 31 off 29 balls, while Vijay Shankar made 29 after living a charmed life. Only two other CSK batters made runs in double-digit figures.

After MS Dhoni relinquished his captaincy, Ruturaj Gaikwad took over in IPL 2024. In IPL 2025, Gaikwad was the designated skipper until an elbow injury ruled him out. That meant MS Dhoni is back at the helm. MS Dhoni's form has not been special. While his wicketkeeping has been sharp, batting-wise he hasn't had much impact

MS Dhoni Scripts History, Shatters Twin Records As He Captains CSK Against KKR

Chennai Super Kings' very own 'Thala' made history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he will captain the side during the IPL 2025 match against Kolkata Knight Riders. With CSK's primary skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, sustaining a hairline fracture on the elbow, the captaincy baton went to Dhoni, the joint-most successful captain in IPL history, with 5 titles to his name. As CSK take on KKR at Chepauk, Dhoni broke two more records in the esteemed T20 league. Dhoni became the first 'uncapped player' in IPL history to captain the franchise. Dhoni, though a veteran of over 500 international games, became an 'uncapped player' because of a new rule that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) introduced ahead of the 18th edition of the league.
