Indian pacer Harshit Rana posted a heartwarming picture on social media, celebrating his call-up to the ODI team with his father and telling him that this accomplishment of his life "belongs to him". Harshit Rana was among the younger and newer stars named in the white-ball team for India's white-ball tour of Sri Lanka starting from July 27 onwards. This will be India's first-ever international assignment under the new head coach, Gautam Gambhir. The former opener was announced as India's coach earlier in July after Rahul Dravid's contract ended following Men in Blue's ICC T20 World Cup title win.

AIFF Has A Shortlist Of 20 Candidates For India Men's Football Team Head Coach's Job

All India Football Federation's (AIFF) acting secretary general M Satyanarayan on Friday said the sports body has drawn up a shortlist of 20 "competent" candidates for the job of the Indian men's team head coach. The position was left vacant after the sacking of Igor Stimac last month, following the Indian team's failure to reach the third round of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers after losses to Qatar and Afghanistan. "We have shortlisted a few coaches, you can say around 20, and we have also written to some of them to see if, from the time they have applied to now, they are still available because lots of people are signing up," Satyanarayan told PTI Video.

Swashbuckling batter Suryakumar Yadav on Friday expressed his delight at being appointed captain of the Indian T20 side for the tour of Sri Lanka, saying the last few weeks have been "nothing short of a dream". In a heartfelt post, Suryakumar thanked everyone for keeping faith in him and for receiving plenty of support in recent times. The 33-year-old Suryakumar succeeded Rohit Sharma as India's captain in the shortest format ahead of flamboyant all-rounder Hardik Pandya. The Olympian double-trap shooter said the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) was late in announcing the 21-member contingent for Paris, adding that he still has high hopes from the jumbo squad.
