Paris Olympics 2024: Harmanpreet Singh Turns Saviour Again, India Draw 1-1 vs Argentina

Skipper Harmanpreet Singh rescued India by converting a last-minute penalty corner as they held former champions Argentina to a 1-1 draw in a Pool B hockey match of the Paris Olympics on Monday. India had fluffed as many as nine penalty corners before Harmanpreet found the net, firing the ball into the top corner. Argentina were left to rue the missed penalty stroke by Maico Casella in the 36th minute. It was Lucas Martinez, who had put his side ahead in the 22nd minute with a field goal and Harmanpreet, who had struck against New Zealand in the dying moments, found the net a minute before the final hooter. Harmanpreet did not feel that India fared poorly.

Former pistol great Jaspal Rana's obsession and single-minded dedication to the sport has been his hallmark all along his entire journey from the time he emerged on the scene as a precocious talent, annihilating junior records and winning a bagful of international medals. But the one piece of metal that was missing from his trophy cabinet was an Olympic medal. "Quickly Eats Lunch, Always In A Hurry": Arshdeep Singh Reveals Interesting Trait About India Teammate

India's left-arm fast-bowler Arshdeep Singh said leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi is someone who has a very big heart and bowls with a lot of daredevilry in the shortest format. His comments come after Bishnoi's superb spell of 3/26 played a big role in India winning second T20I by seven wickets. "Ravi Bishnoi has a very big heart and bowls with a lot of daredevilry. He's now getting rewards for it. Wherever he's got chances to play games, he has performed very well. Like, he was hit for runs in the first game, but came back strongly to end with a wicket."

'Relieved' Novak Djokovic Races Past Rafael Nadal At Paris Olympics 2024 In 60th Meeting

Novak Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal at the Olympic Games on Monday, claiming a 6-1, 6-4 victory in the pair's 60th and potentially last meeting. It was 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic's 31st win in a rivalry which began on the same Roland Garros clay courts in 2006. Nadal was largely outclassed in the much anticipated encounter, only coming briefly to life when he won four games in a row in the second set. "I'm very relieved," said Djokovic. "Everything was going my way, I was 6-1, 4-0 up but I played a sloppy service game and gave him chances." He added: "I never thought back in 2006 that we'd still be playing each other almost 20 years later."
