Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday announced their playing eleven for their first Test match against Bangladesh. The two-match Test series will kick off on August 21 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The two Tests against Bangladesh will mark the first assignment of Jason Gillespie as Pakistan's Test coach. The second Test of the two-match series is set to be played from August 30 to September 3 in Karachi.
Three teams were disqualified for fielding overage players in the 63rd Subroto Cup sub-junior boys international football tournament which got underway on Monday. Nazareth Model High School, Dima Hasao, Assam; Nehru Public School, Jamui, Bihar and Ultou Government Model High School, Bishnupur, Manipur were the teams disqualified from the tournament. An official announcement to this effect was made by Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society, which is under the aegis of the Air Force Sports Control Board.

Switzerland goalkeeper Yann Sommer announced his retirement from international football on Monday after a 12-year career in which he made 94 appearances for the national side. The 35-year-old played all five of Switzerland's matches at Euro 2024. His last international game was the quarter-final defeat by England on penalties. "My time with the national team has meant a lot to me," Inter Milan's Sommer said in a statement released by the Swiss football association.
