Tennis World No. 1 Jannik Sinner Cleared Of Wrongdoing Despite Failing Anti-Doping Tests - Explained

Tennis world number one Jannik Sinner has been cleared of any wrongdoing for two anti-doping violations earlier in the season, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced Tuesday. Sinner provided an in-competition sample at the Indian Wells Masters on March 10, 2024 which contained the presence of a metabolite of clostebol at low levels, according to the ITIA. A further sample, conducted eight days later out of competition, also tested positive for low levels of the same metabolite. "ITIA today confirms that an independent tribunal convened by Sport Resolutions has ruled that Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner bears No Fault or Negligence for two Anti-Doping Rule Violations under the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme (TADP)," said the agency in a statement on Tuesday.

"Crowd Also Comes There": Ex-Star Blasts Pakistan Cricket Board Over Bangladesh Test Stadium Fiasco

Due to the ongoing renovations at the National Stadium in Karachi, the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh has now shifted the game to Rawalpindi, meaning that both Tests will be played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium. This comes after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had said that the match will be played behind closed doors (without fans). While the PCB has made the u-turn regarding the same, shifting the game to Rawalpindi, former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal has slammed the board for making an "international mockery" of the situation.

Sri Lanka Aim To Defeat Ben Stokes-Less Bazball In England Test Series

England head into the first Test against Sri Lanka at Old Trafford starting Wednesday with several players given a chance to prove a point after captain Ben Stokes's series-ending injury. Star all-rounder Stokes is set to play no part at all in the three-match contest after tearing his hamstring during the Hundred. And that means England will be without their inspirational leader for the first time since Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum launched the team's dynamic 'Bazball' era two years ago.

"He Has Played This Game For So Long...": Bangladesh Captain On Shakib Al-Hasan's Political Setback

Bangladesh's cricket captain on Tuesday was confident that ace allrounder Shakib Al Hasan will compete at his best in a Test against Pakistan this week, after protests over the former lawmaker's inclusion. Shakib, 37, was a member of the now dissolved Bangladesh parliament led by ex-premier Sheikh Hasina, who was forced to flee the country at the start of the month following mass protests. The interim government last week gave permission for Shakib, who has not commented on the political crisis, to feature in the two Tests against Pakistan, the first of which starts Wednesday.

Aryna Sabalenka Downs Jessica Pegula To Win WTA Cincinnati Open

Aryna Sabalenka thrust herself into US Open title contention on Monday with a 6-3, 7-5 defeat of Jessica Pegula to win the ATP/WTA Cincinnati Open. The third seed who missed Wimbledon with a shoulder injury won a trophy for the first time since collecting her second Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in January. Sabalenka had it all her way against the American sixth seed until the closing stages when she lost serve for the first time leading a set and 5-4. But a quick re-break and another hold of serve solved that problem and produced a first Masters-level trophy on hardcourt since 2021 for the Belarus player.

Bangladesh Hope To Overturn 0-12 Test Record vs Pakistan

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto believes that his team can pull out some "special things" against Pakistan in the two-match Test series and change their dismal record against the opponents. Bangladesh have never defeated Pakistan in a Test match. In the 13 Tests against Pakistan, the visitors have drawn one and lost 12. In the World Test Championship standings, Bangladesh are currently in the eighth position.

Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Moved From Bangladesh To UAE: ICC

The highly-anticipated ninth edition of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup will now take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) continuing to host the event. The ICC confirmed that the tournament will now be held by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in UAE because many countries have expressed concern over security because of travel advisories by their respective governments following political turmoil in the country. “It is a shame not to be hosting the Women's T20 World Cup in Bangladesh as we know the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) would have staged a memorable event,” ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said in a statement.
