'Chinese Players Are Not Invincible': Para Shuttler Bhavina Patel Ahead Of Paris Paralympics

Tokyo Paralympics silver medallist in table tennis Bhavina Patel is determined to do one better against her Chinese opponents at Paris Paralympics starting on August 28, saying they are not invincible. The first Indian paddler to clinch a medal at Tokyo in Class 4 event, Bhavina said on departure for this year's edition that she would look to defy Chinese domination in table tennis as they are "humans" too. Bhavina told PTI Videos on Sunday, ”Chinese players are humans and so are we. China does not matter to me, even during the Tokyo edition I had beaten a Chinese player so there's no pressure on me to face them. I have changed my tactics according to them so I will deploy my best plans against them on the day," she said.

Football World Pays Tribute As 'True Gentleman' Sven-Goran Eriksson Dies Aged 76

Prince William hailed Sven-Goran Eriksson as a "true gentleman" as tributes poured in following the former England manager's death on Monday. Eriksson passed away surrounded by his family after revealing in January he had "at best" a year to live after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. The 76-year-old Swede was the first foreign manager of England, taking them to the World Cup quarter-finals in 2002 and 2006, while reaching the same stage at Euro 2004. As well as his colourful five-year spell with England, Eriksson managed several of the world's top clubs and countries during 42 years in the dugout. In his role as president of the English Football Association, Prince William met Eriksson on many occasions.

"Such A Case...": Bangladesh Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto Breaks Silence On Murder Row Involving Shakib Al Hasan

Bangladesh players have rallied round teammate Shakib Al Hasan, the ousted lawmaker who faces a case of alleged murder connected to unrest that toppled the government earlier this month. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto said his team's maiden Test win against Pakistan on Sunday, in which all-rounder Shakib took three second-innings wickets, was a tribute to the hundreds killed during protests that forced former premier Sheikh Hasina from power. Bangladesh endured weeks of student-led protests that resulted in Hasina fleeing to India by helicopter on August 5, ending 15 years of autocratic rule.
