Pursuing PhD in Economics, the 33-year-old Indian, who lost to Kevin Mather of the USA in the Tokyo semifinals before securing a bronze, showed neither fatigue not nerves to secure five back-to-back wins in a day to bag his second successive Paralympics medal. Reserving his best for the final, Harvinder nailed three 10s in his last four arrows to knock out his 44-year-old opponent from Poland Lukasz Ciszek 6-0 (28-24, 28-27, 29-25) for India's second medal in archery at the ongoing Paralympics.

Leicester have won their appeal against a decision that an independent commission had jurisdiction to consider an alleged breach of the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules. The English top flight said late Tuesday it was "surprised and disappointed" by the move to uphold the Foxes' appeal, which means they are set to avoid a points deduction. An independent appeal board found that Leicester's accounting period -- after it was claimed the club had exceeded the maximum permitted 105 million pounds ($138 million) loss over a three-season period -- ended on June 30, 2023, after the club were relegated from the top flight.

The 33-year-old Harvinder, who became the first Indian to win an archery medal at the Games with a bronze three years ago in Tokyo, bettered the colour of his medal in a superlative performance of five consecutive wins.

SFA Championship 2024 To Kick Off On October 4

Sports For All (SFA) announced the launch of the SFA Championships 2024-25 across 10 cities in India and will feature over 150,000 participants from more than 7000 of India's best sporting schools. Students will compete in 31 sports across all the centres. The SFA Championships will also be going to Nagaland (Dimapur) for the first time in its nine-year history. Registrations for the SFA Championships are now open. The SFA Championships have consistently grown since its inception. Starting with Mumbai in 2015, 21 championships have been held since then in Hyderabad, Uttarakhand, Pune, Delhi, Bengaluru, Indore, Ahmedabad and Jaipur. The 2024 edition will kick off on October 4 in Uttarakhand, and Jaipur will host the final championship from December 6-16.

Paris Paralympics: Amisha Fails To Bag Shot Put Medal, Parmjeet Kumar Finishes 8th In Para-Powerlifting

Indian para-athlete Amisha missed out on a medal in the final of the F46 Shot Put at the ongoing Paris Paralympics, as she finished at number 14th in the medal match on Wednesday. Amisha finished at number 14th with the personal best of 9.25 m, but it was not enough to land her a position in the podium. Her first attempt turned out to be her best throw. Dominating the podium were Noelle Malkamaki of USA, who set a new world record with a throw of 14.06 m.
