As PR Sreejesh Retires, PM Narendra Modi Shares Heartwarming Farewell Letter

Retired Indian hockey star P R Sreejesh has shared a letter that he received from Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently in which the leader has lauded the former goalkeeper for his service to the game and expressed confidence in his ability to be "impactful" as the new national junior coach. Sreejesh called time on his illustrious 15-year career after India's bronze-winning Paris Olympic campaign, which was the his and the team's second successive Games medal after the bronze in Tokyo.

Colombia Down Argentina, Brazil Stunned In World Cup Qualifiers

Colombia avenged their Copa America final defeat with a 2-1 victory over Argentina while Brazil crashed to a 1-0 defeat against Paraguay in South American qualifying for the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday. Skipper James Rodriguez buried a nerveless 60th-minute spot-kick to seal a hard-fought win for Colombia over the reigning world champions, who were without injured captain Lionel Messi. It was sweet revenge for Colombia, who were beaten 1-0 by Argentina in a bitterly disappointing Copa America final loss in Miami two months ago.

"Afghanistan Have Better Facilities": Big Accusation Against BCCI Over Noida Test Fiasco

The Afghanistan vs New Zealand one-off Test has made headlines without a single ball being bowled. For two days, no play has been possible at the Greater Noida Stadium due to unfit playing conditions. Rain at the venue hasn't been incessant, poor drainage facilities have hurt the stadium's ability to get the match started. Despite the fact that the Sun was out for the most part of Day 2, even toss couldn't be held as the groundsmen failed to dry the wet patches on the field. While there are suggestions that the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) could've chosen a different venue, a board official has claimed that Noida stadium was the only option they had.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah scored as Egypt cruised to a 4-0 victory over Botswana on Tuesday as matchday two of 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying drew to a close. Other African powerhouses had mixed fortunes with South Africa snatching a last-gasp 3-2 win in South Sudan while Nigeria were held 0-0 in Rwanda. Jean-Philippe Krasso, a late addition to the Ivory Coast squad, opened the scoring as the defending champions beat Chad 2-0 in Yaounde to lead Group G by three points from Zambia.

Harry Kane Celebrates 100th Cap With Brace As England Sink Finland

Harry Kane celebrated his 100th England cap in memorable style as the striker's superb double sealed a 2-0 win against Finland in the Nations League on Tuesday. England captain Kane struck with a pair of eye-catching finishes in the second half at Wembley to mark the latest landmark in his remarkable career. The 31-year-old is the 10th man to reach a century of England appearances, joining the likes of David Beckham and Bobby Moore in the exclusive club. Goalkeeper Peter Shilton holds England's caps record with 125 appearances, while Wayne Rooney is the country's most capped outfield player on 120, and it would be little surprise if Kane passed both of them.

"BCCI Gave Us 3 Venue Options": Afghanistan Reveal Why They Chose Noida For New Zealand Test

The controversy over facilities in Greater Noida continued as play on Day 2 of the one-off Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand was once again called off without any action. The Greater Noida Authority has come under a lot of fire after the ground staff failed to get the field ready for play at the Pathik Sports Complex. The umpires cited "players safety" as a concern and although there was no rain on Tuesday, some wet patches on the field made it impossible for the officials to start the play.  While Afghanistan have played majority of their games in India at Greater Noida, the BCCI gave the Afghanistan Cricket Board a few options including Kanpur, Bengaluru, and Greater Noida.

Brother Of French Football Star Paul Pogba To Be Tried In Kidnap Case

French judges on Tuesday ordered six men to stand trial in a kidnap and extortion case involving French footballer Paul Pogba, with the star's brother Mathias one of the accused, sources close to the case said. The trial follows a two-year investigation into the alleged extortion and kidnapping of the former Manchester United midfielder in a high-profile case that emerged in 2022. Five people close to the World Cup winner are suspected of having "meticulously prepared" a meeting in the Paris suburbs on March 19, 2022, which ended with Pogba being kidnapped and held by two unidentified men who demanded he give them 13 million euros ($14 million), according to Paris prosecutors.
