There were no shortages of big money deals as Shreyas Iyer was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 Crore while Kolkata Knight Riders brought back Venkatesh Iyer for a staggering Rs 23.75 Crore. Day 2 will have more talents on offer with big names like Mayank Agarwal, Faf du Plessis, Glenn Phillips, Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw in the fray. Some uncapped Indian talents are also expected to fetch surprising prices.
MI Full Squad, IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians have the second-highest auction purse entering Day 2 of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Having bought only four players on Day 1, MI are expected to go big for many remaining stars, such as the likes of Marco Jansen and Washington Sundar. Mumbai Indians still have a couple of batters to add to their potential starting XI, and can still buy as many as seven overseas players. Their biggest buy on Day 1 of the auction was New Zealand pacer Trent Boult, who returned to blue for Rs 12.5 crore. The five-time champions will go into the second day of the auction with Rs. 15.60 crore left in its purse. They still have 14 slots to fill, including three overseas players. CSK had retained five players heading into the auction -- Ruturaj Gaikwad (Rs. 18 crore), Matheesha Pathirana (Rs. 13 crore), Shivam Dube (Rs. 12 crore), Ravindra Jadeja (Rs. 18 crore), MS Dhoni (Rs. 4 crore). Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori was most excited about securing Ishan Kishan on day one of the IPL mega auction here but admitted that losing T Natarajan to Delhi Capitals was a loss. Kishan, who made his name at the Mumbai Indians, was sold to SRH for Rs 11.25 crore on Sunday. The left-arm batter has had a tumultuous year, having lost his place in the Indian team as well as a BCCI central contract for defying the board's diktat to play domestic cricket.
