PSG Up Against It In Champions League As Qatari Project Risks Drifting

Paris Saint-Germain have developed a reputation over the last decade as being one of Europe's most glamorous clubs, albeit without ever claiming the Champions League glory so coveted by their Qatari owners. Now, however, a team stripped of superstars is drifting dangerously towards mediocrity and at risk of an unthinkable early exit from the continent's elite club competition. PSG are in Austria on Tuesday to face Red Bull Salzburg in what is a must-win game if they are to avoid being eliminated from the new-look Champions League before the knockout phase.

"Lamb To The Slaughterhouse...": Rohit Sharma Receives Brutal 'Confidence' Warning

Former pacer Dodda Ganesh has strongly cautioned the Indian team management against the idea of captain Rohit Sharma opening the batting in the crucial third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series at the Gabba, labelling it a risky proposition given Rohit's current form and the challenging conditions in Brisbane. Ganesh's warning comes amid growing debate over India's batting order following their struggles in the first two Tests of the series. India were bowled out for 150 in their first innings of the opening Test at Perth and then for 180 in Adelaide. Though they recovered to win the Perth Test by 295 runs thanks to centuries by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli, there were not such heroics in Adelaide and the visitors slumped to an embarrassing 10-wicket defeat within three days.

India's 13-Year-Old Sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi Accused Of Age Fraud By Ex-Pakistan Cricketer

India's 13-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 Auction for Rs 1.1 crore, once again found himself in the middle of an age fraud controversy. Former Pakistan cricketer Junaid Khan took to social media to share a video of his knock during the U-19 Asia Cup tournament and questioned the age of the youngster. Vaibhav produced a brilliant batting performance against Sri Lanka and Junaid questioned if a 13-year-old is capable of hitting such massive sixes. Vaibhav ended up being the joint highest-scorer for India in the competition with his best performance coming against Sri Lanka where he slammed 67 runs with the help of 5 fours and 5 sixes.

Asked About Mohammed Siraj's 'Liar' Accusation On Travis Head, Pat Cummins's Strong Response

Following the win against India at home in Adelaide Oval on Sunday, Australia skipper Pat Cummins shared his thoughts on the verbal spat between left-hand batter Travis Head and Mohammed Siraj during the day-night (pink-ball) Test match. Adding an element of drama and emotion to the hotly-contested Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Siraj aggressively sent off Head after cleaning him up following a counter-attacking century that severely depleted Indian bowlers and the team's chances of winning. As Siraj aggressively gestured to the Aussie suggesting it was time for him to take a walk back to the pavillion, Head also returned back the favour with some words. Siraj was heavily booed by the Australian crowd following Head's dismissal.

PCB Names Condition To ICC For Agreeing To 'Hybrid' Champions Trophy: Report

Amid the ongoing impasse on Pakistan's hosting of the Champions Trophy 2025, the decision on the next year's marquee event is likely to be announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, sources told IANS on Monday. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which holds the hosting rights for the Champions Trophy, has reportedly demanded a written assurance from the international body on the hybrid model for future ICC tournaments after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) communicated to ICC that the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan abiding by the Government of India's policy. Amid the stand-off, PCB has agreed to accept the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy with India playing its matches in Dubai while the rest of the tournament will be staged in Pakistan. India will also play the semifinal and final matches in Dubai, subject to qualification.

Calm Rinku Singh, Rampant Vipraj Nigam Take UP To Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy Quarters

A composed Rinku Singh was overshadowed by an unheralded Vipraj Nigam as they displayed excellent finishing skills to take Uttar Pradesh into the quarter-finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, beating Andhra by four wickets on Monday. UP will take on Delhi in the last eight clash after Rinku (27 not out off 22 balls) and Vipraj (27 not out off 8 balls) added 48 runs in just three overs to finish the 157-run chase in 19 overs. UP were cruising at one stage, having reached 70 for no loss in just 8.1 overs before a slump saw them skidding to 109 for six. This was when Rinku was joined by Delhi Capitals' new recruit Vipraj.

Kapil Dev Feels "It's Too Early" To Talk About Jasprit Bumrah's Potential Succession As Captain

Former cricketer Kapil Dev believes it is too early to judge if Jasprit Bumrah is the "best available candidate" to replace Rohit Sharma as the captain when the time comes. The Indian team stepped into Perth's Optus Stadium with an air of swagger around them. Bumrah captained the visitors in Rohit's absence, who was unavailable due to personal reasons. By imposing relentless pressure on Australia, India stood victorious with a record-shattering 295-run triumph over the hosts to go 1-0 up in the series.

World Chess Championship: D Gukesh Loses To Ding Liren In 12th Game, Both Players At 6 points Each

Indian challenger D Gukesh lost the 12th game against defending champion Ding Liren of China to allow his opponent bounce back and level the World Chess Championship match on Monday. The 18-year-old Gukesh was ahead by one point after he notched his second win of the match on Sunday, which came after seven consecutive draws, but Liren's win on Monday brought the things on an even keel. The two players are now tied at 6 points each with just two games left in the 14-round classical time control format, still shy of 1.5 points in order to win the title. The remaining two games will be played on Wednesday and Thursday, after rest day on Tuesday. Irrespective of what happens in the next game on Wednesday, the match will go the distance (14 games) and more likely there will be tiebreaker -- where games are of shorter duration -- to determine the winner.
