Sources: Seahawks still plan on signing Terrion Arnold - ESPN

The Seattle Seahawks are still planning to sign cornerback Terrion Arnold, but it will take a while, as they are working through the timing, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo on Tuesday.

Arnold, 23, is facing eight felony charges stemming from a kidnapping and robbery in Tampa, Florida, in February. He was arrested in Hillsborough County in June after turning himself in and was released the following week by the Detroit Lions, who drafted him in the first round in 2024.

Arnold will be placed on the NFL commissioner exempt list when he signs, meaning he'd be ineligible to play or practice while the league looks into his case, but he still would be able to attend meetings and would be paid.

He has agreed to a one-year, minimum-salary deal.

He also visited with the Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints and New York Giants, sources said, and those teams were aware that Arnold being placed on the exempt list was likely.

Arnold is accused of orchestrating the kidnapping and beating of three men who prosecutors believe he wrongly suspected of stealing $100,000 in cash from him, along with luxury watches and bags.

Arnold has pleaded not guilty, and, through his representatives, he has denied the allegations. He is facing four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery, which carry a potential sentence of life in prison.

At some point, Arnold projects to factor into the mix for the Seahawks' No. 3 cornerback job.

«The timetable right now is being worked out,» coach Mike Macdonald said Friday. «To my understanding he's visited quite a few teams.… We're working through that on when's the best time for him to come in, but we have an agreement with him. We'll see.»
