Source: Leeds insider drops huge behind-scenes update from Thorp Arch, it's great news - opinion

Leeds United have been handed a huge boost over the fitness of Adam Forshaw…

Speaking after the win against Watford, Leeds boss Jesse Marsch said: “Yeah, I think he (will be back for the Crystal Palace game). He might even be in training this week, he just had a little bit of a calf issue and we didn’t want to risk him.”

And now, former Whites ace Noel Whelan has delivered an update on the midfielder following his own sighting of him at Thorp Arch.

He said: “I saw him last night at coaching, taking his son there, with a big smile on his face. He looks fine, he looks fit, he looks strong and he’s in a really good place too. They’re enjoying the fact that they’re on a really good run and embracing the challenge that’s in front of them.

“You’ve got to give credit to Adam Forshaw. He’s a man in form right now and he’s doing a really good job in that midfield area.”

The £60k-a-week earning midfielder has been dubbed as “class” by Whelan, while former manager Marcelo Bielsa himself has previously admitted just how influential he can be.

He said: “Forshaw is a player who, when he has played, he is always between the better players of the team.

“He has a feature that is very difficult to get. He defends similar to Kalvin, he attacks similar to Klich. What he does close to Phillips doesn’t impede, it is not a problem for him when he goes close to Klich to attack. You are not going to find a lot of players with this kind of characteristic.”

Given the kind of injury troubles he has over the past couple of years, seeing him back on the pitch has been one of the real highlight stories of a difficult season for Leeds in general.

It’s exactly why news that he looks fit and healthy should be greeted with a huge sigh of relief by Leeds
