"Something he would definitely look at" - Journalist drops West Ham exit claim involving Moyes

West Ham manager David Moyes could look to sell some fringe players such as Issa Diop and Arthur Masuaku this summer to make room for new signings, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Hammers have had another strong top-flight campaign, but O’Rourke has suggested that Moyes could already have one eye on how he can improve his squad in the off-season.

Having finished last season in sixth place, West Ham are on course to secure another year of European football as they currently sit seventh, just six points outside the top four.

They also made the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup and the last 16 of the FA Cup, while they are still in with a chance of silverware in the Europa League.

The team are through to the quarter-finals of the competition, having battled past Sevilla in the last round as Moyes continues to work wonders at the London Stadium.

Moyes has received plenty of plaudits over the last couple of years for making West Ham a competitive side, despite having a relatively small squad.

O’Rourke feels that the Scottish coach will want to strengthen his playing staff ahead of next season, and he believes bringing in funds by selling the likes of Diop and Masuaku could be the way to achieve this.

When asked about the possibility of players like Diop and Masuaku leaving, O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “If he can offload some of the fringe players in the squad to make room in his squad, I’m sure it is something he would definitely look at, and it would also boost his own war chest for the summer transfer window as well.”

This could be a smart move on Moyes’s part.

The duo have only started 14 league games between them
