Social media reacts to tennis star Aryna Sabalenka's comments on WTA transgender rules

Aryna Sabalenka has stirred up quite a bit of discourse on social media over the last 24 hours, and it had nothing to do with what she wore in her latest match.

The number one women's tennis player in the world went on record Monday saying that she's in favor of the WTA's new transgender eligibility policy, which includes a genetic screening requirement.

The Belarusian star was asked about it during her Canadian Open press conference in Montreal, and she did not hold back, calling it a necessary step and saying, "It's really important to keep the fairness in our tour."

While most applauded Sabalenka for her take as well as the WTA for trying to keep their league fair, not everyone on social media was thrilled.

As they did with the Sophie Cunningham/WNBA trans debate, plenty of people on social media chose to bury their heads in the sand, saying that biological men in women's sports isn't a real problem.
