Snetterton BSB: Race weekend statistics, facts and pub ammo

Race weekend stats, facts and pub ammunition for this weekend’s Bennetts British Superbike round at Snetterton

Snetterton has held a BSB round every year since 1996; in that time, there have been 55 British Superbike Championship races held at the Norfolk venue.

Those 55 races have seen 25 different race winners and 38 different riders stand on the podium.

The Snetterton 300 circuit was first used for BSB in 2011. At 2.9689 miles, it is the longest track on the 2021 BSB calendar.

The current lap record is held by Shane Byrne (Ducati), who lapped at 1’47.143s in the second race of 2017.

Last year’s three races saw just three riders finish on the podium – Tarran Mackenzie, Jason O’Halloran and Tommy Bridewell.

Bridewell will make his 350th BSB race start in the third race at Snetterton, becoming just the third rider to reach the landmark after Michael Rutter, Shane Byrne and Peter Hickman.

With wins last time out at Cadwell Park, both Bradley Ray and Danny Buchan now have a total of six career BSB wins.

Ray has now recorded 26 career BSB podiums, the same figure taken by Glenn Irwin and 2013 Champion Alex Lowes.

Danny Buchan’s hat-trick of podiums at Cadwell moved him on to a career total of 21, which matches the number taken by John Hopkins and Peter Hickman.

Three riders have now confirmed their place in the Showdown – Bradley Ray, Jason O’Halloran and Rory Skinner.

The remaining five places will be contested between eight riders – Lee Jackson, Glenn Irwin, Tommy Bridewell, Tarran Mackenzie, Kyle Ryde, Danny Buchan, Peter Hickman and Leon Haslam.

Out of those eight contenders, only Irwin, Bridewell, Mackenzie and Haslam have previously finished on the BSB podium at Snetterton.
