Sky Sports reporter now drops fresh Crystal Palace claim involving Odsonne Edouard

Odsonne Edouard has struggled to build on a bright start at Crystal Palace, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

The striker marked his Premier League debut by scoring twice following his £14m move from Celtic but has found himself out of the side in recent months.

Edouard enjoyed a dream start to life in English football after coming off the bench to bag a brace in the 3-0 victory over Tottenham back in September.

That bright cameo wouldn’t be enough to earn himself a place in Patrick Vieira’s starting XI at Anfield the following weekend, but the Frenchman would quickly earn a regular starting place.

His next goal would arrive at Arsenal and while he endured a two month goal drought after that, he enjoyed a real purple patch over Christmas, directly contributing to five goals in four games, three of which came in the same match against Norwich.

But since scoring against Liverpool in the middle of January, it’s been a real struggle for the striker, who’s started just once in all competitions and has been an unused substitute on five occasions, with Jean-Philippe Mateta Vieira’s preferred choice at present.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Mateta, Edouard and Benteke, all of them have done their bit, but the latter two in particular haven’t done enough to say I’m the number one

“Odsonne Edouard came in from the Scottish Premiership and all eyes were on him. He started really well, got two against Tottenham, but it’s just about getting that consistent run.”
