Sky Sports man now hints at exciting early Leeds team news

Injury expert Ben Dinnery has been speaking on the Premier FPL Injuries YouTube channel about how Kalvin Phillips could start for Leeds United.

Kalvin Phillips has not started a game for Leeds United since late December before he picked up a long-term hamstring injury that ended up requiring surgery, however with Adam Forshaw now out for six weeks, ending his season early, Phillips could be asked to start for the Whites.

The England international has been a huge miss for Leeds as it’s no coincidence when he’s been out for large parts of this season the Whites have found themselves in a relegation battle, compared to last campaign when he was fit for most of the games and they ended up finishing ninth.

Dinnery has claimed that Phillips is now in a place where he could start for Leeds United against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

(7:32) “Adam Forshaw, he was returning from a calf problem, unfortunately, he took a whack on the knee, a heavy collision in training on Wednesday and that didn’t improve throughout the session and he was sent for an x-ray, and that’s revealed a hairline fracture of his patella or his kneecap.

Now, Jess Marsch believes that this will probably keep him out for in and around six weeks, so again, it’s season over for him. However, Kalvin Phillips now he’s in a position to start.

Of course, he’s spent several months on the sidelines following surgery on his hamstring, so there’s a like for like replacement and it would be good to see Kalvin Phillips back in that Leeds starting 11.”
