Sky Glass makes new updates including YouTube voice search and Sky Sports Box Office launch

Sky Glass customers will be able to voice search via YouTube and watch the biggest sporting events at home thanks to a series of new updates.

Glass launched last October and relies on a broadband connection to bring its services to homes, rather than a satellite dish or TV box. Coming in three sizes and three colours, it's the only QLED TV to have Sky inside, and since its launch Sky have made regular updates to the TV, including adding Apple TV+ and new fascias.

Most recently, Sky have added more updates to the TV to make customers' experiences even better and easier. YouTube is being integrated into the voice search and the launch of Sky Sports Box Office means users will be able to watch the biggest fights at home.

The updates are rolling out automatically to all Sky Glass customers, so there’s no need to do anything. Sky says more updates are to come too as they continue to roll out new features.

Sports fans can cheer, as the home of the best pay-per-view sporting entertainment Sky Sports Box Office is now on Sky Glass, meaning fans can watch some of the biggest fights in the comfort of their own home. Sky Sports Box Office will be the only place – in the UK and Ireland - to watch the much-anticipated Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua rematch on August 20, 2022.

Glass customers can now also easily search the whole of YouTube with their voice, straight from the Sky Glass UI. Simply say what you want to find, like “Hello Sky, Late Night Talking on YouTube” for Harry Styles’ newly-released video or “Hello Sky, Mr Beast on YouTube” and be taken to straight to the search results page in the YouTube app.
