Six revelations as Lucy Letby inquiry hears how nurse was able to murder babies

A public inquiry investigating how killer nurse Lucy Letby was able to murder and injure newborns at the hospital where she worked began on Tuesday (September 10) and has uncovered six major revelations.

The former nurse, 34, is currently serving 15 whole-life orders after she was convicted of murdering seven infants and attempting to murder seven others, with two attempts on one of her victims, at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

Letby, who proclaims her innocence, saw a first attempt to appeal her convictions denied by the Court of Appeal in May. An inquiry investigating how she was able to carry out her crimes was launched two months later, but has only just begun.

The nurse, known as Nurse T, specified she was not suspicious but felt the situation was "unusual and unexplained". Ms Langdale,
