Sittingbourne boss Nick Davis on new additions including forward Henry Dasofunjo from Sheppey United

Sittingbourne have signed forward Henry Dasofunjo following his departure from Swale rivals Sheppey.

The wideman scored the second goal, adding to Harry Stannard’s opener, as Bourne won 2-0 at Glebe in their opening pre-season friendly on Saturday.

Dasofunjo helped Sheppey win the Southern Counties East title after signing from Erith & Belvedere in January, marking his Ites debut with the winning goal at Holmesdale.

He’s a player Brickies boss Nick Davis believes can shine stepping up to Isthmian South East.

“He’s looked sharp,” said Davis. “He’s a wideman with a lot of pace who takes people on.

“He’s very direct and works hard, so he’s a good addition.

“I’d heard really good things about him and he actually asked to come to us, which is nice.”

Dasofunjo’s capture follows deals for Lewis Chambers, Matt Warren and AJ Dythe, with further additions to come.

Chambers is back at Woodstock following a spell at Faversham, fellow midfielder Warren was named player-of-the-year as Cray Valley made the Isthmian South East play-offs, while defender Dythe finished last season with Davis at VCD.

“They’re all good lads,” said Davis. “Lewis is only 22 but it seems like he’s been about forever.

“He’s got that massive throw and he’s one that can play in a couple of positions.

“Matt’s a very good signing for us. We had to get some players who know the league as well, and he’s a great player at our level.

“He’s a box-to-box midfielder who can pass the ball, he’s got that little bit of bite about him, he’s good in the air, he’s got a bit of everything.

“He’s a good age, at 28 he’s potentially in his prime and he’s got the experience to back it up.

“I’m surprised he left Cray Valley, we tried our luck really and he fancied a change.
