Silver for Ronan Grimes as national records fall in Paris
Ronan Grimes secured Ireland's first medal at the Paracycling Track World Championships on a day when four national records fell in Paris.
Grimes took silver in the 4km individual pursuit behind world record holder Jozef Metelka in a time of 4:45.129, preventing the Slovakian from catching and overtaking him.
"I’m delighted really," the Athenry man said afterwards.
"I think today in the individual pursuit, I thought silver would be the best that I ever thought I could get and to come away with it is a great feeling."
