Sick and twisted husband and wife drugged children before sexually abusing them

A sick and twisted husband and wife who groomed children before drugging and sexually abusing them have now been jailed.

Claire Moores, 46, and husband Craig Moores, 51, from Stockport, were reported to the police in May 2019 in relation to non-recent sexual offences against two girls between 2002 and 2008.

The couple were arrested and charged on August 2020 and found guilty of 15 charges at trial. They have now been jailed at Minshull Street Crown Court for a combined total of 28 years.

The court heard how two girls, who have not been named due to legal reasons, reported being given substances prior to being sexually abused by the couple. A third victim was exposed to the presence and consumption of controlled drugs and sexual activity.

Jurors had previously heard that Claire operated in the sex industry in her spare time and charged for webcam performances online. The couple also hosted sex parties at home and took pictures of them engaging in sex with other people.

The prosecution said the pair also 'groomed' victims. One victim was plied with a 'cocktail of drugs' and 'brainwashed' into 'joining in with their lifestyle' by encouraging her to engage in regular threesomes.

The court heard that there was one incident in which a victim told police she saw Claire 'engage in sexual activity with their male dog' before pressuring her into doing the same when she was just a teenager.

The pair were also charged with causing a boy under the age of 15 to engage in sexual activity and administering a substance with intent to stupefy to allow sexual activity - but were found not guilty.
