‘Showing so much class’ – Many Nottingham Forest fans react as midfielder excels during victory over Barnsley

Winning their first three league games of 2022, Nottingham Forest have made even more strides towards the Championship play-offs, with the Reds now just a point off the top-six. 

Forest have now picked up 39 points from their 20 games under Steve Cooper this season, as his side now continue to chase down promotion to the Premier League.

The Midlands club enjoyed a comfortable victory at home to Barnsley last night, with Keinan Davis opening the scoring in clinical fashion to open his account with the Reds. 

Ryan Yates then tapped into an unguarded net in the 38th minute from an inviting cross from Brennan Johnson, completing a well-worked Forest move. 

Johnson then sealed the victory with a finish into the bottom corner, following an excellent run and cutback from Djed Spence. 

One player who enjoyed another excellent 90 minutes of football was James Garner, whose vision, tenacity and technical ability helped Forest dominate the midfield battle. 

The 20-year-old has once again been excellent during what is his second loan stint at The City Ground, with the young midfielder proving to be a real hit with the Forest fans.
