Shoppers are 'never going Trafford Centre again' after 'devastating' store closure

Massive homestore Homesense will be closing down in the Trafford Palazzo, it has been confirmed. Fans of the homeware haven have said they are “devastated” by its closure with some vowing they will “never go” to the shopping centre again.

Homesense, which is located in the Trafford Palazzo adjoining the Trafford Centre, is a Canadian chain of discount home furnishing stores popular among bargain-hunting homeware enthusiasts.

Owned by American apparel and home goods company TK Maxx, on its website it has announced “this store is now closed” with the nearest Homesense store now being the one in Altrincham Retail Park.

In a statement to the Manchester Evening News, a spokesperson for the Trafford Palazzo said: “We can confirm that Homesense has closed its branch here at Trafford Palazzo.

“The decision was one made by Homesense’s head office as part of their regional strategy, and we wish their store team all the best for the future.

“We appreciate the news is disappointing, but our customers can still head to Primark to shop their favourite home wear items.

“Our focus now is to continue to build on Trafford Palazzo’s growing reputation as a destination of choice for everyday entertainment and leisure, which we can see through our very popular recent additions of King Pins and Nerf AX, and the announcement of Archie’s Atomic which will be opening soon.”

Reacting to the news on @fenloninteriors Instagram post, Homesense fans said the news has left them feeling “gutted.”

Charlotte said “Stoppp”, while another added “Why is it closing it is the highlight of my Trafford centre trip!!!”

Kathy said: “Nooooooo! This is devastating news!!! I hope
