Shocked Gogglebox fans ask 'how many' as Mary reveals spider hack

Fans were left in shock as Gogglebox favourite Mary revealed her spider hack. The armchair critics returned with the rest of the regulars for another episode of the new series, on Channel 4.

And as they watched a snippet on This Morning where spiders were discussed, Mary, who is married to Giles, revealed how she gets rid of spiders in her home. But viewers seemed more concerned about exactly where Mary said she often spots the commonly feared creature.

Mary said that if she spots a spider on 'staircase two', she 'warns' them she is going to get the hoover. "By the time I leave and come back, they have gone," she said.

Fans took to social media platform X to convey their shock at Mary being on the second floor. @Mabel_Mouse_ commented: "The ones in staircase 2…” just how many staircases do Giles and Mary have?"

During the This Morning episode, Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary spoke to spider expert and professor, James Logan, who gave tips about how to get rid of spiders in your homes. James, who had various spiders in tubs on the show, said: "We don't want to squish them, we don't want to kill them."

This got the Gogglebox cast talking about how they deal with spiders. Meanwhile the regulars were also treated to snippets from My Mum, your Dad and Married at First Sight UK.
