Shock omission from Reading FC squad as Paul Ince names his team for AFC Wimbledon clash

New Reading FC striker Shane Long has been left out of the Reading FC matchday squad for Tuesday's friendly at AFC Wimbledon.

The new forward took a knock to his back during the 1-1 draw with West Ham United over the weekend - the likely reason for his absence in south London.

Long admitted post match the injury was not a serious one and he did harbour hopes of featuring against the Dons, but it appears manager Paul Ince has erred on the side of caution.

Ince has made three changes to his side from the one that started against the Hammers. Dean Bouzanis replaces Joe Lumley in goal, while Femi Azeez and Yakou Meite both start from the off.

Sam Hutchinson starts in defence - officially as a trialist although it is understood he has now signed a deal with the club. The two other trialists from the weekend game - Nesta Guinness-Walker and Yasin Ben El-Mhanni both feature on the bench once again.
