Sheffield Wednesday boss Darren Moore provides positive injury update

Sheffield Wednesday boss Darren Moore has provided updates on a whole host of soon-to-return players ahead of his side's crucial domestic run in. The Owls were held to a 1-1 draw by Accrington Stanley at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening.

With strugglers Gillingham to come this weekend, Wednesday will be hopeful they can build upon their recent strong form, having netted 13 goals in their last four outings. Moore's side have also only lost twice since the start of February, with confidence beginning to grow when it seemingly matters most.

Sitting just one point outside of the play-off places with only nine games left to go in League One, the Owls are hopeful of a strong end to the campaign. With many faces now returning to action too, Moore is confident his side can benefit from those returning to the fold.

''As weeks go by, you'll start to see more come back. Chey Dunkley was on the bench tonight. [Dominic] Iorfa started, which will do him the world of good,'' began the 47-year-old.

"Harlee Dean, Josh Windass and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing are all back in training. It's about building their fitness levels back up over a matter of time. Hopefully we'll get no ill reaction from them.

"You've seen the injuries we've had all season. I'm happy to see them back on the training ground but we want to see them out on the pitch. The longer they're out there, the closer they are to 90 minutes."

With Wednesday also struggling for cover in the defensive areas at times this season, Moore is hopeful the same attitude can be applied by all, despite what they're asked to do on the pitch as individuals.
