Sheffield United squad for Coventry as Paul Heckingbottom dealt another possible selection blow

Sheffield United are looking to further cement their place in the top six this afternoon when they visit Coventry City.

Manager Paul Heckingbottom has a couple of selection issues to contend with.

John Fleck will miss playing against his former club having picked up a groin issue against Middlesbrough.

Heckingbottom confirmed he will be out but does not think it's a long-term problem.

Conor Hourihane is the most likely replacement in his position should the Blades boss wish to stick with as close to a winning team as possible.

However, he was also expecting to be boosted by the return of Charlie Goode from a three-match suspension, but the on-loan Brentford defender is struggling.

Heckingbottom said: "Charlie Goode has had a reaction with his cartilage, so we are trying to get that settled.

"It's a swelling on his knee, so we are trying to get that down whether we scan it or not depends on how it settles.

"He's a doubt. He trained on Thursday but felt it again and was aware of it.

"As much as he wants to play and be involved we know there's an issue there that obviously we have to look into."

Ben Davies played on the right of the defensive three in the absence of Goode and Chris Basham and performed well.

George Baldock could return in a welcome boost having missed the last two matches, while there is also a surprise name with the Sheffield United squad today.
