Sheffield United fan pundit identifies 21-year-old as the club’s most improved player this season

United have bounced back from their relegation campaign last season to compete for a play-off place in the Championship.

With just one regular league game left to play, the Blades are 5th in the table and have their destiny in their own hands as they prepare to face champions Fulham this weekend.

But Wyse believes that Jayden Bogle is the club’s most obviously improved player under Paul Heckingbottom.

The full-back played a bit-part role in United’s Premier League season last year, appearing 16 times as the side finished rock bottom in the table.

But this year, the 21-year old became a more important member of the team before an injury in February ruled him out for up to six months.

Wyse is hoping that Bogle can return to action and continue showing such great signs of improvement.

But, regardless, the United fan has been impressed with how he has performed in the second division this season.

“Most improved player, for me, is Jayden Bogle,” Wyse told Football League World.

“Before his injury, he became one of our most important players going forward.

“He was flying up the right wing, beating men at ease, delivering crosses into the box and chipping in with a few goals as well.

“He was really in a rich vein of form before injury struck and hopefully he comes back next season and is the player that we started to see this season.”

United will secure a play-off place with a win against the Cottagers on Saturday, irrespective of results elsewhere.

However, dropping points to Marco Silva’s side will open the door to Middlesbrough and Millwall to sneak into the top six.

The injury to Bogle in February was such an unfortunate end to a promising season for the Englishman.

The defender will now be doing well to even be returning
