Shaun Murphy unable to build on Thursday's 147 as he bows out of Shoot Out

Shaun Murphy was unable to build on his maximum break heroics as he bowed out of the BetVictor Shoot Out in Swansea.

Murphy made the first 147 in the history of the event on Thursday against the unfortunate Hungarian teenager Bulcsu Revesz, who hit the blue when breaking off to leave Murphy the chance which he brilliantly converted.

However, it was a different story in the second round of the one-frame event as Murphy suffered a narrow defeat to Welshman Dominic Dale, who trailed 44-7 early on before making a decisive break of 39.

Dale's victory was a welcome highlight for the home fans as Mark Williams, Jackson Page, Matthew Stevens and Jamie Clarke all lost, although 2021 winner Ryan Day won a scrappy final match of the day against Ashley Carty.

Chris Wakelin failed to reach the last 32 after losing 46-44 to Joe O'Connor, the defending champion missing a tricky red with the rest as time expired.
