Sharks Goalie Devin Cooley Has Hilarious Reaction To His 49-Save game

If you've spent any time around hockey either playing or watching it, you'll be well aware that goalies can sometimes be a little odd.

Of course odd, is a relative term, and they usually slot in somewhere between intense pregame superstitions and Ilya Bryzgalov talking about the universe.

Devin Cooley is a goalie for the San Jose Sharks and has been one of the bright spots in what has been an otherwise brutal season for the Sharks who are smack dab in the middle of a rebuild.

He hails from Los Gatos, California, which is just outside of San Jose, and after a collegiate career at the University of Denver, Cooley worked his way up from the ECHL and AHL before getting his NHL start back on St. Patrick's Day in Chicago.

Through four games he's 2-1-1 with a 2.99 GAA and .918 save percentage, but what we need to talk about is his performance on Thursday against the Seattle Kraken.

Cooley went head-to-head with another exciting rookie netminder in Seattle's Joey Daccord (big F1 guy, by the way), and the Sharks came away with a 3-1 win.

But it was how he did it that was wild: Cooley faced 50 shots and made 49 saves.

Jeez, get that guy some Pedialyte.

However, here's where the goofy goalie-ism comes in. Check out his reaction to this feat according to Sharks beat reporter Max Miller.

No goalie has ever offered quite such a nihilistic take on his performance. At least not as far as I'm aware.

Of course, it's important to note that according to Miller, Cooley was saying this with a laugh, and actually said something after his first win back in March.
