Shane McCormack set to be new Meath boss
Former Kildare goalkeeper and Ex-Armagh LGFA manager Shane McCormack is set to become the new Meath boss.
Meath LGFA tonight revealed that Allenwood clubman McCormack will be proposed by the county selection committee as the Royals new ladies' senior football boss for the 2024 season. The former Kildare goalkeeper was manager of Armagh for the 2023 season and led them back to Division 1.
Before that he served as a selector and coach with Armagh for the 2021 and 2022 seasons under Ronan Murphy.
In that time, they lifted two Ulster Senior Championship titles.
McCormack’s nomination, and that of his backroom team, will be put forward for ratification at the next Meath LGFA County Board meeting scheduled for Monday 11 September.
Meath have been searching for a manager since Jenny Rispin’s term as interim manager concluded with an All-Ireland semi-final loss to Kerry.
Rispin had replaced Davy Nelson who stood down at the end of the league, having only been appointed late in 2022.
Former manager Eamon Murray, who guided the Royals to All-Ireland titles in 2021 and 2022, is part of Raymond Galligan’s new management team in Cavan.
